SiamANIMA 2025 — A Look Back

Do you still remember the atmosphere of SiamANIMA?

Let’s revisit the moments from SiamANIMA 2025 together —celebrating, reminiscing, and dreaming of the next edition to come 🥳💫

For two unforgettable weeks in September 2025, SiamANIMA — Siam International Animation Festival — came to life across Thailand.

As the country’s first artist-led international animation festival, SiamANIMA brought together independent animators, educators, cultural workers, and audiences from Southeast Asia, Europe, and beyond—creating a shared space for connection, learning, and imagination.

Centered at the Thai Film Archive (Salaya) and extended through partner venues in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Ang Thong, the festival unfolded through screenings, exhibitions, workshops, talks, and community gatherings. Each encounter reflected our belief that animation is more than entertainment—it is a language for dialogue, care, and creative exchange across cultures and generations.

Looking Back, and Continuing the Conversation

One of SiamANIMA’s ongoing reflections is how to make our festival content more accessible to Thai audiences.

While many film screenings were presented with Thai subtitles during the festival, we are continuing to add Thai subtitles to selected short interviews and recap materials, allowing more viewers to engage with the voices and experiences shared by artists, jurors, and participants.

Beyond the online space, SiamANIMA also continues to explore ways of extending access to festival content through physical screenings. In the coming year, we aim to collaborate with microcinemas and independent spaces outside Bangkok, bringing selected SiamANIMA programs to new local contexts and audiences. These initiatives are part of our ongoing effort to let conversations sparked at the festival travel further—at a pace that remains thoughtful, sustainable, and rooted in community.

Closing This Chapter, Moving Forward Together

SiamANIMA 2025 was made possible by the artists who trusted us with their works, the audiences who joined with openness and curiosity, the volunteers and team members who carried the festival with care, and the partners who believed in this shared vision. Together, we created moments of joy, learning, and connection—memories that will stay with us beyond the festival dates. 

As we close the chapter of 2025, we do so with gratitude and reflection.

What form SiamANIMA will take in 2026 is still unfolding, but we remain committed to moving forward with the community, at a human pace, listening carefully and growing together.

ย้อนมองการเดินทางของ SiamANIMA 2025

ตลอดระยะเวลาสองสัปดาห์ที่เต็มไปด้วยความทรงจำในเดือนกันยายน 2025 SiamANIMA (Siam International Animation Festival) เกิดขึ้นได้จากการพบกันของผู้คนมากมายที่มารวมตัวกัน ณ ประเทศไทย

ในฐานะ เทศกาลแอนิเมชันนานาชาติ ที่ขับเคลื่อนโดยมี ‘ศิลปินเป็นศูนย์กลาง’ ครั้งแรกของประเทศไทย SiamANIMA ได้เชื่อมโยงนักทำแอนิเมชันอิสระ นักการศึกษา คนทำงานวัฒนธรรม และผู้ชมจากหลากหลายที่มา ทั้งจากประเทศไทย เอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ไปจนถึงยุโรป

เพื่อร่วมกันสร้างพื้นที่ของการแลกเปลี่ยน เรียนรู้ และจินตนาการร่วมกัน โดยมี หอภาพยนตร์ (องค์การมหาชน) ณ ศาลายา เป็นพื้นที่หลักและบ้านหลังแรก พร้อมทั้งยังขยายกิจกรรมไปยังพื้นที่พันธมิตรต่างๆใน กรุงเทพฯ เชียงใหม่ และอ่างทอง

เทศการนำเสนอกิจกรรมมากมายทั้งการฉายภาพยนตร์ นิทรรศการ เวิร์กช็อป เวทีเสวนา และกิจกรรมชุมชนหลากหลายรูปแบบ ที่ต่างก็ช่วยสะท้อนความเชื่อของพวกเราว่า แอนิเมชันไม่ใช่เป็นเพียงสื่อบันเทิง แต่คือภาษาๆหนึ่งของการสนทนา ที่เต็มไปด้วยความใส่ใจ และการเชื่อมโยงข้ามวัฒนธรรมและยุคสมัย

ตกตะกอน – ขยายบทสนทนา

หนึ่งในสิ่งที่ทีมงาน SiamANIMA ยังคงศึกษาหาวิธีการใหม่ๆและเรียนรู้อยู่เสมอคือ เราจะทำอย่างไรให้เนื้อหาและบทสนทนาจากเทศกาล เข้าถึงผู้ชมชาวไทยได้มากขึ้น

ภาพยนตร์จำนวนมากในเทศกาลมีซับไตเติลภาษาไทยประกอบแล้ว แต่พวกเราเชื่อว่า หากสามารถทยอยเพิ่มเติม ซับไตเติลภาษาไทยให้กับ Short Interview และวิดีโอ Recap บางส่วนด้วย น่าจะช่วยเปิดโอกาสให้ผู้ชมได้เข้าถึงน้ำเสียงในการเล่าเรื่อง ความคิด และประสบการณ์ที่ศิลปิน กรรมการ และผู้เข้าร่วมเทศกาลได้แลกเปลี่ยนกันไว้ มากยิ่งขึ้นด้วย

นอกจากพื้นที่ออนไลน์แล้ว…

SiamANIMA ยังมองหาทางในการ ขยายการเข้าถึงเนื้อหาของเทศกาลผ่านการฉายในพื้นที่จริง ด้วย โดยในปีถัดไป พวกเรามีความตั้งใจที่จะทำงานร่วมกับไมโครซีนีมาและพื้นที่อิสระในจังหวัดอื่น ๆ นอกกรุงเทพฯ เพื่อนำโปรแกรมบางส่วนของ SiamANIMA ไปพบกับผู้ชมในบริบทท้องถิ่นที่หลากหลายยิ่งขึ้น

ความพยายามเหล่านี้คือส่วนหนึ่งของการทำให้บทสนทนาที่เริ่มต้นขึ้นในเทศกาล ได้เดินทางต่อไปอย่างค่อยเป็นค่อยไป บนจังหวะที่พอดีกับแรงที่เรามี และไม่ลืมที่จะยึดโยงกับชุมชนเป็นศูนย์กลาง

ปิดบทหนึ่ง – เดินทางต่อไปด้วยกัน

SiamANIMA 2025 เกิดขึ้นได้จากความร่วมมือของศิลปินที่ไว้วางใจส่งผลงานเข้ามา – ผู้ชมที่รับชมด้วยความเปิดใจ – ทีมงาน อาสาสมัคร และผู้ร่วมงานที่ดูแลเทศกาลด้วยความใส่ใจ รวมไปถึงพันธมิตรและผู้สนับสนุนที่เชื่อในวิสัยทัศน์ร่วมกันนี้

พวกเราร่วมกันสร้างช่วงเวลาแห่งความสุข การเรียนรู้ และการเชื่อมต่อ ซึ่งจะยังคงอยู่ต่อไปแม้จะจบช่วงของเทศกาลไปแล้ว

เมื่อบทของ SiamANIMA 2025 ค่อย ๆ ปิดลง พวกเราจึงขอเก็บเกี่ยวความทรงจำเหล่านี้ไว้ด้วยคำขอบคุณ เปิดพื้นที่ให้คำถามและความเป็นไปได้ใหม่ ๆ สำหรับปี 2026

SiamANIMA จะเดินทางต่อในรูปแบบใด ยังคงเป็นเรื่องที่พวกเราก็กำลังค่อย ๆ คลำทางไป แต่สิ่งที่จะยังคงเดิม คือความตั้งใจที่จะเดินไปพร้อมกับชุมชน ด้วยจังหวะที่เป็นมนุษย์ รับฟัง และเติบโตไปด้วยกัน
