Lights, Laughter & YUM! 10SAMS Mingle Night Brought Animation to Life

If the heart of 10SAMS beat in every 10-second frame submitted, its soul danced joyfully on the night of the 10SAMS Screening Party & Mingle—a deliciously quirky, heartwarming celebration of creative spirit held on March 29, 2025 at Chaloem La Art House in Bangkok.

This screening was a full-flavored recipe of laughter, connection, and collective cheer. Over 90 attendees—from animators to general audience members, arts lovers to industry insiders—gathered in a warm and welcoming space.

💌 Welcome to the YUMiverse

From the moment guests arrived, it was clear this wasn’t your average art event. Each pre-registered attendee received a welcome pack, lovingly prepped by the 10SAMS team and student volunteers. This little bundle of joy included a voting slip (for the “Mitchalyn Gin-Jai” Award, see previous article), a drink coupon (for RSVP’d guests), Bingo Yum card with Character stickers (for our deliciously spicy cups of joy), and the ultimate social tool: “Hello I Am” stickers.

With a playful color-coding system (❤️ red for animators, 💛 yellow for walk-ins, 💚 green for special guests, and an adorable 🥕 baby carrot icon for guests under 18), the stickers became instant conversation starters. Awkward silence? Never heard of her.

🎨 Get Messy, Get Talking

The party was full of creative ice-breakers that made the space crackle with fun energy. Guests were invited to contribute to the YUM YAI Board, where the prompt asked: “If you were a YUM ingredient, what would you be?” The result? A wild, wonderful collage of flavorful doodles and contact handles: a quirky art piece and a growing directory of new creative friendships.

And then there was Bingo YUM—a spicy social game that had everyone trading the character stickers like childhood recess pros. Once guests completed their cards, they could redeem them for “YUM in a CUP”, a party dish inspired by Thai sour and spicy salad. 🍋🔥 The food, the game, the vibe—it all came together like a perfectly mixed ยำ (Yum), the dish the competition theme took its name after.

🏡 A Festival that Feels Like Home

True to the 10SAMS spirit, the team curated a casual, hang-out-style evening that paid tribute to the beloved Thai food stall—where small dishes serve up big conversations. It was loud, loving, low-key, and nobody needed to impress. Just be themselves!

According to the guest feedback on our Google Form survey, the people declared the event venue and hospitality at a highly satisfying level, along with a request for a larger place to accommodate more participants in the future. Over 78% of attendees rated the night 5 out of 5, with another 14% giving it a solid 4 and the rest 7.1% giving out 3. Even better, the same number found the event professionally valuable—proof that a joyful night can also be deeply impactful for artists’ growth.

🌐 Online Buzz & A Billboard Dream

The magic didn’t stop at the gallery doors. Online, 10SAMS made waves:

+370 followers on 10SAMS Facebook
+180 followers on 10SAMS Instagram
Over 13 million views (yes, million!) and 7,000 shares on the Popular Vote winner’s video.

And that video? It lit up one of Bangkok’s busiest intersections, broadcast on an electronic billboard sponsored by Chaloem La Art House, right by สะพานหัวช้าง (Chaloem La 56 Bridge). In a city where traffic stands still, animation had a moving moment.

🌱 Cultivating Creative Roots

More than an event, 10SAMS proved itself as a seedbed for lasting relationships. Award winners and “special mention” artists found each other and continued their friendship on social media after the event—exchanging words, encouragement, and maybe even the beginnings of new projects.

The diversity of techniques, genres, and creators on display reminded everyone that animation isn’t one thing—it’s anything you want it to be. The screening witnessed the outcome of ideas from artists and newcomers, experimenting beyond their prior practices. Feedback from fellow competitors and audiences also helped encourage them to keep up their good work.

💡 Real Partnerships, Real Momentum

The ripple effects didn’t stop at the venue doors. Chaloem La Art House—already a wonderfully generous host—has committed to continued collaboration and is actively helping connect 10SAMS with the wider contemporary art community in Bangkok.

At the same time, both international and local industry ties began to blossom, laying a solid foundation for the upcoming SiamANIMA (Siam International Animation Festival) 2025. Among our honored guests were Oscar Vasquez, Program Coordinator of the Blue Chair Festival (Laos); Thomas Dohm, co-founder of the ROGUE collective (Singapore); and key figures from Thailand’s animation scene, including Khun Pui Boonsawat, Senior Marketing at The Monk Studio; Khun Mos (Athawut Vitheethum), Director of RedMos Animation, who even brought their two children to join the fun! Notably, Khun Phatchara (Tod), a previsualization artist from Riff Studio, also expressed strong interest in joining the next round of competition. 🎥🍿

📣 And the buzz didn’t stop there! 10SAMS caught the eye of เทพเจ้าคอนเนทโต้ (Connettogod), a beloved cinephile Facebook page with over 321,000 followers.

The page featured a compilation of 10SAMS submissions, helping spread the spirit of the project far beyond the screening room. Even more exciting? They’ve expressed interest in partnering with SiamANIMA in the future—a promising step toward growing a more connected, media-savvy community for independent animators. 🌐✨

🌈 A Colorful Success

By every measure—attendance, engagement, feedback, visibility—10SAMS was a triumph. But more than metrics, it offered something rare: a safe, lively, generous space for animators and artists to simply be. Be messy. Be brilliant. Be together.

And with SiamANIMA 2025 on the horizon, 10SAMS proved one thing for sure: community isn’t a side dish—it’s the main course.

“จิตวิญญาณ” ของมันก็คงได้ออกมาเต้นระบำอย่างอิ่มเอมหัวใจในค่ำคืนแห่งการฉายหนังและพบปะกันของคนสร้างแอนิเมชัน ณ งาน 10SAMS Screening Party & Mingle การเฉลิมฉลองความคิดสร้างสรรค์ที่แปลกตาแต่อุ่นใจครั้งนี้ จัดขึ้นเมื่อวันที่ 29 มีนาคม 2025 ที่ เฉลิมหล้า อาร์ตเฮาส์ ใจกลางกรุงเทพฯ

กิจกรรมสานสัมพันธ์สุดสร้างสรรค์ของเราช่วยให้บรรยากาศในงานสนุกสุด ๆ ทุกคนได้รับเชิญให้ร่วมเขียนและวาดลงบนกระดาน “YUM YAI” โดยมีคำถามกระตุ้นต่อมศิลปินที่ว่า:
“ถ้าคุณได้เป็นส่วนผสมหนึ่งในยำ คุณจะเป็นอะไร?”
ผลลัพธ์ที่ได้ คือคอลลาจสีสันสดใสที่เต็มไปด้วยความคิดสร้างสรรค์ และช่องทางสำหรับติดต่องานในอนาคต และแล้วกระดานยำใหญ่ของเราก็กลายเป็นกระดานรวมเพื่อนใหม่ในวงการไปเลย!

อีกหนึ่งกิจกรรมฮิตก็คือ Bingo YUM เกมที่ชวนให้ทุกคนแลกสติ๊กเกอร์ตัวละครกัน เหมือนที่ตอนเด็กๆ เคยเล่นช่วงพักกลางวัน เมื่อใครสะสมครบก็นำบิงโกไปแลกรางวัล “YUM in a CUP” เมนูอาหารว่างที่ได้แรงบันดาลใจจาก “ยำ” แบบไทยแท้ได้เลย 🍋🔥

🏡 เทศกาลที่รู้สึกเหมือนบ้าน

งานนี้ถูกออกแบบให้มีบรรยากาศเหมือนร้านยำข้างทาง คือ ไม่ต้องมีพิธีรีตอง ไม่มีใครต้องพยายามทำให้ใครประทับใจ แค่มาแบบเป็นตัวเอง และแซ่บในแบบที่ตัวเองอยากเป็น

แบบสอบถามหลังจบงานที่เราได้รับจาก Google Form แสดงให้เห็นผู้เข้าร่วมมีความสุขกับทั้งสถานที่และการรับรองต้อนรับในงาน ทั้งยังขอให้งานคราวหน้าจัดในที่ที่ใหญ่ขึ้นเพื่อรองรับผู้เข้าร่วมมากกว่านี้

จากการนับคะแนน เราพบว่ากว่า 78% ของผู้ร่วมงานให้คะแนนงานเต็ม 5 อีก 14% ให้ 4 คะแนน และที่เหลือ 7.1% ให้ 3 คะแนน

หลายคนบอกอีกด้วยว่านี่คืองานที่ “มีประโยชน์กับการทำงาน” จริง ๆ
ซึ่งตอกย้ำว่าค่ำคืนแสนสนุกนี้ไม่ได้แค่เติมพลังใจ แต่ยังเปิดโอกาสใหม่ๆ ให้ศิลปินได้เติบโตด้วย

🌐 กระแสออนไลน์ และ ป้ายไฟกลางกรุง

พลังของ 10SAMS ไม่ได้หยุดแค่ในแกลเลอรี แต่ยังแผ่ไปไกลถึงในโลกออนไลน์ด้วย

📈 เราได้ followers เพิ่มบน Facebook กว่า 370 ราย
📸 ได้ followers เพิ่มบน Instagram กว่า 180 ราย
📽️ ส่วนคลิปวิดีโอผู้ชนะ Popular Vote ก็มียอดวิวทะลุ 13 ล้านครั้ง (อ่านไม่ผิด… 13 ล้าน!) และแชร์ไปกว่า 7,000 ครั้ง!

ไม่เพียงเท่านั้น เฉลิมหล้า อาร์ตเฮาส์ ยังสนับสนุนให้วิดีโอนี้ได้ขึ้นฉายบนจอบิลบอร์ดใกล้สะพานหัวช้าง ทำให้แอนิเมชันของพวกเราได้กลายเป็นดาวเด่นหนึ่งเดียวที่ได้โลดแล่นไปบนถนนซึ่งรถติดแหง็กทุกๆ วัน

🌱 เพาะเมล็ดสร้างสรรค์ให้เติบโต

10SAMS ไม่ใช่แค่อีเวนต์ฉายหนัง แต่มันได้กลายเป็น “แหล่งเพาะปลูกมิตรภาพ” สำหรับนักสร้างสรรค์แอนิเมชัน แม้งานจะจบลงแล้ว ผู้ชนะและผู้ได้รางวัล Special Mention หลายคนยังคงพูดคุย ส่งกำลังใจกันผ่านโซเชียลมีเดีย และเริ่มวางแผนโปรเจกต์ใหม่ๆ ร่วมกัน

ผลงานที่หลากหลายทั้งเทคนิค แนวทางนำเสนอ และแนวคิดของผู้สร้างสรรค์ แสดงให้เห็นว่า แอนิเมชันไม่มีขอบเขตจำกัด และสามารถเป็นอย่างไรก็ได้เท่าที่ใครๆ อยากให้เป็น หลายผลงานเกิดจากศิลปินที่กล้าทดลองสิ่งใหม่ และกำลังผลิบานจากแรงเชียร์ของชุมชน

ไม่ว่าจะมองจากมุมไหน ทั้งในแง่จำนวนผู้ร่วมงาน การมีส่วนร่วม คำวิจารณ์ และการรับรู้ของสังคม
10SAMS นับว่าเป็น “ความสำเร็จ” อย่างแท้จริง
