This workshop dives into experimental storytelling and surrealist animation. Led by Lucija Mrzljak—director and educator from the Estonian Academy of Arts, and Oscar-shortlisted for Eeva—we’ll explore how to shape the irrational into visual narratives where meaning emerges from unexpected connections and intuitive leaps. Using just a pen, paper, and imagination, we’ll start with images and let narrative evolve organically into stories that defy logic. Open to all levels—just bring curiosity and an open heart.

เวิร์กช็อปนี้จะพาทุกคนไปสำรวจศิลปะการเล่าเรื่องแนวทดลองผ่านมุมมองอันเซอร์เรียล นำโดยคุณ Lucija Mrzljak ผู้กำกับและอาจารย์จาก Estonian Academy of Arts ผู้เคยเข้าชิงออสการ์จากผลงานเรื่อง Eeva มาแล้วเพียงใช้กระดาษ ปากกา และจินตนาการ เราจะได้เริ่มสร้างสรรค์งานภาพ แล้วปล่อยให้เรื่องเล่าได้เติบโตเองอย่างเป็นธรรมชาติ พร้อมกับเรียนรู้การสร้างความหมายจากการเชื่อมโยงที่ไม่คาดคิดกิจกรรมนี้เปิดสำหรับผู้เข้าร่วมทุกระดับ ขอแค่มีใจเปิดกว้างและใช้ความสงสัยใคร่รู้นำทางเท่านั้น

SiamANIMA in collaboration with the Japan Foundation, Bangkok presents a workshop led by Japanese artist Fukumi Nakazawa: “Draw lines that embody abstraction”. This workshop sharpens the observational skills animators need—seeing in three-dimensional space and translating them into motion. Participants will animate a shape born purely from imagination, using a single line to express depth, emotion, and movement. The session ends with a spatial twist: finished works will be projected onto walls, transforming them into site-specific installations that blur the line between imagination, space, and perception in reality.

SiamANIMA ร่วมกับ เจแปนฟาวน์เดชั่น กรุงเทพฯ นำเสนอ เวิร์กชอปโดยศิลปินญี่ปุ่น Fukumi Nakazawa “Draw lines that embody abstraction” เน้นฝึกทักษะการสังเกตที่จำเป็นต่อการสร้างแอนิเมชัน ตั้งแต่การมองเห็นวัตถุแบบสามมิติ ไปจนถึงการถ่ายทอดจินตนาการออกมาในแบบภาพเคลื่อนไหว โดยใช้เส้นสายลายวาดเพียงเส้นเดียว บอกเล่าถึงความตื้นลึก อารมณ์ความรู้สึก และการเคลื่อนที่ กิจกรรมนี้จะปิดท้ายด้วยการนำผลงานของทุกคนไปฉายบนผนังภายในนิทรรศการ กลายเป็นศิลปะจัดวางเฉพาะพื้นที่ ซึ่งจะเปิดประสบการณ์ใหม่ที่ผสานภาพเคลื่อนไหว จินตนาการ และการสัมผัสรับรู้ของผู้ชมในสถานที่จริงเข้าด้วยกัน

This hands-on workshop introduces “phytogram”, an eco-friendly animation method using plants to create images on film. Led by Yi-Chin Tsai, the session combines experimental animation with sustainable, handmade practices rooted in nature using plant-based solutions instead of traditional chemical developers.

A creative playground for musicians and sound designers to explore where sound meets animation. Led by Ruben van Asselt, this hands-on workshop expands participants’ sonic vocabulary through playful, boundary-pushing exercises—repurposing instruments, experimenting with field recordings, manipulating samples, and interpreting animated movement through sound. Together, participants will craft collaborative sound collages for animated loops, unlocking fresh tools for interdisciplinary storytelling and connection.
