FRAMEWORKS Spotlight: Estonian Academy of Arts

Remembering is a fluid affair. A daughter tries to reconcile with her mother through memories of their shared rituals, exposing the intricate aspects of their relationship. As the daughter matures, she begins to contemplate conventional notions of divinity. The blank frames of the 35mm strip regain their function as memorabilia in the process of engraving her past onto its surface.

ความทรงจำนั้นผันแปรไปได้เสมอ ในเรื่องนี้ ลูกสาวพยายามสร้างความเข้าใจกับแม่ผ่านความทรงจำเกี่ยวกับพิธีกรรมต่าง ๆ ที่เคยทำร่วมกัน เผยให้เห็นความซับซ้อนในความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างกัน เมื่อลูกสาวโตขึ้น เธอก็เริ่มตั้งคำถามกับแนวคิดดั้งเดิมเกี่ยวกับสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ กรอบภาพว่างเปล่าของฟิล์ม 35 มม. กลับมามีความหมายในฐานะที่ระลึก ในกระบวนการบันทึกอดีตของเธอลงบนพื้นผิวฟิล์มนั้น

The sky is vast, the wilderness is boundless. While the lonely maple tree stands at the corner of the world. It bears thousands of seeds,Transforming into butterflies. Flirting and dancing over the water bubbles. They fall in love.

ใต้ท้องฟ้ากว้างใหญ่ ในป่าเขาไกลสุดตา ณ มุมหนึ่งของโลก ยังมีต้นเมเปิลเดี่ยว ๆ ต้นหนึ่งตั้งอยู่ เมล็ดนับพันของมันกลายเป็นผีเสื้อที่บินพลิ้วไหว รำเล่นเหนือฟองน้ำ และตกหลุมรักกันอย่างนุ่มนวล

‘I search outwardly and inwardly, for the trace of your last visit. Then, in that place, you have never been. Now, in the place you have always been. But this silence…is too loud.’From an attempt to revive my deceased aunt with ‘animation’, to an acceptance of the impermanence of life. 'The Last Visit' is my 5-year transformative journey from bereavement to the last goodbye, in two different environments of Estonia and Thailand.

‘The Last Visit’ คือบันทึกการเดินทาง 5 ปีของผู้สร้างสรรค์ จากความสูญเสียสู่คำร่ำลาครั้งสุดท้าย ในสองฉากทัศน์ที่ต่างกัน ทั้งในไทยและเอสโตเนีย

If the rain were to fall indoors, but never outdoors ...then where do we begin to look for shelter? A place said to give refuge from bad weather or a danger. Outside the fence, the bell remains calling, and if we are not there, then perhaps it's only a sound that rings out inside of it’s own mourning. I spoke to me, he to he, she to she, the ground spoke to the ground, the trees to the tree. Meanwhile inside, the familiarity of that well met rain continues to be falling.

หากเม็ดฝนร่วงหล่นเพียงในร่ม หาใช่กลางแจ้งแล้ว เราจะหลบหนีจากสภาพอากาศเลวร้ายและอันตรายไปพักพิงยังที่แห่งใดได้ หากไร้ผู้สดับฟัง เสียงระฆังที่ยังคงกังวานไปหลังแนวรั้ว คงเป็นได้เพียงสำเนียงเสียงแว่วเพื่อระบายความตรอมตรมในใจโดยลำพัง ฉันพูดกับตัวฉัน เขาพูดกับเขา เธอพูดกับเธอ พื้นดินพูดกับพื้นดิน ต้นไม้พูดกับต้นไม้ และในระหว่างนั้น เม็ดฝนที่พร่างพรายอยู่ภายใน ก็กลับกลายเป็นสิ่งคุ้นชิน

An addicted biker runs out of cigarettes. He joins a race to get more, but has to take help from some peculiar people in the audience to stay in the competition.

สิงห์นักบิดติดบุหรี่หมดตัว เขาจึงเข้าร่วมการแข่งขันเพื่อให้ได้เงินรางวัลไปซื้อบุหรี่เพิ่ม แต่กลับต้องรับความช่วยเหลือจากผู้คนแปลก ๆ ในกลุ่มผู้ชม เพื่อให้ยังได้อยู่ในการแข่งขันต่อไป

The protagonist is a Miller living in a watermill. He bakes daily bread and raises ducklings whom he wishes one day to set free. But on the field next to his home, hunters go to shoot birds.

ชายชาวมิลเลอร์คนหนึ่งอาศัยอยู่ในโรงสีพลังน้ำ ทุก ๆ วันเขาจะอบขนมปังและเลี้ยงเหล่าลูกเป็ดที่เขาหวังว่าจะปล่อยเป็นอิสระในสักวัน โดยไม่รู้เลยว่า ในทุ่งหญ้าไม่ไกลจากบ้านของเขา เหล่านักล่าสัตว์กำลังออกล่านกอยู่
