The Embassy of France in Thailand and the Thai Animation and Computer Graphics Association (TACGA), with support of Institut Français Paris, were proud to present the 2023 edition of the BEYOND ANIMATION Festival in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phayao.

The event featured screenings, professional workshop for students, round tables with filmmakers, creative workshop for the general public and off-line workshop with French experts. This year, The Beyond Animation festival was organised in collaboration with Thai and French professionals, with a unique partnership with the Japan Foundation, Bangkok. Some of our highlights this year include an existential piece with an experimental touch that won an award at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival DOZENS OF NORTHS by Koji Yamamura, a quirky romantic comedy that competed for Caméra D’or at Cannes Film Festival EVERYBODY LOVES JEANNE by Céline Devaux, an adaptation of short stories from Murakami BLIND WILLOW, SLEEPING WOMAN by Pierre Földes, and a climate dystopian story that was screened at the International Film Festival Rotterdam POUPELLE OF CHIMNEY TOWN by Yusuke Hirota.
